New Hampshire orchards can be found from the Connecticut Valley to the
Seacoast, and from our southern border to the White Mountains. Click here for our apple growers map
Apple trees
cover 2,000 acres of land and produce approximately 25 million pounds of
apples each year. These fruit trees dot the landscape in distinctive rows on
gently sloping hillsides. During spring bloom, soft white trees grace the slopes.
And in fall, the limbs are laden with McIntosh, Cortland, and well over 50
varieties of New Hampshire apples.
Views from the orchards are some of the best in the state,
overlooking villages and valleys, rivers and miles of colorful
foliage. Most New Hampshire apple growers sell their fruit
from a store right at the orchard. These stores will often
have other autumn delights: pies, cider, maple syrup, and
other goodies. McIntosh remains a favorite variety, with
Cortland, Empire, Macoun, Gala, Mutsu, Honeycrisp and
many others enjoyed as eating, cooking, or baking apples.
Every New Hampshire orchard is unique;
some have pick your own apples, hayrides
through the orchards, petting zoos, and
cider mills pressing sweet cider at the farm.
Wherever you go, you will be sure to find
the best tasting, highest quality apples, grown
with great care by New Hampshire farmers.
