Dartmouth College Professor Allen Koop is the author of this important story about the friendships that formed between the prisoners at the POW camp and the guards and members of the town of Stark, New Hampshire, from 1944 to 1946. Amazingly, several of these prisoners-of-war returned to Stark in 1986 for a reunion with the guards and the townspeople of Stark.
