Growers dinners are held at selected restaurants throughout New Hampshire in which the entire menu consists of NH-grown and raised foods. Additional dinners to be held are:

October 20th: The NH Farm Museum (Atlantic Culinary Academy), 1305 Wt. Mt. Highway (RT 125), Milton, 652-7840.

November (Date TBA), Orchard Street Chop House, One Orchard Street, Dover, 749-0006.

Chuck's Favorite Apple Crisp

Peel and slice 8 medium sized NH apples, and place in a 12" deep dish pie plate. (Make sure to eat a few slices while doing this.) Sprinkle 2/3 cup of granulated sugar over top and, lightly stir in. In a separate bowl mix till crumbly:

1 cup flour
1 cup dark brown sugar
½ to ¾ stick of margarine or butter, slightly softened
1 tsp cinnamon
Place this mixture on top of apples and sugar, pat down lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until mixture is bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top.
