Hermit Maker, Tom Campbell Wilson grew up in Concord New Hampshire where good Hermits were popular and craved by all who ate them. They were as popular as doughnuts are today. Today, the only local hermits that are being made are by Hermit House Hermits. Older folks in the area remember them well and with great fondness, today, the traditional cookie is enjoying a renewal of popularity by the younger generations. It was in approximately 2010 that Tom began making chutneys, a throw back to his mothers home made green tomato chutney, and "Chutney House" was born. Soon after, Tom began the making of a favorite "New England Tradition" the "Great American Hermit." We have since discontinued the making of our chutney so we can spend our time and efforts concentrating on the production of our Hermits.
